DCU Open day
On Friday we got the chance to visit the DCU campus in Dublin. I was looking forwards to this trip because now that I am getting older, I need to start thinking about my future. From the careers evening I got some ideas for potential future professions. I started to consider film/ TV production, teaching, and psychology. Unfortunately there was no film course at DCU so I attended psychology and teaching. I really enjoyed learning about the teaching course because I think I would be really interested in this in the future. However after the course presentation I have realized that this may not be a realistic option for me as I am exempt from Irish. Due to the fact that I have no Irish, it is possible that I will not be able to work in primary education in Ireland. However, I will make sure to keep my options open as I could possibly move abroad in the future. Psychology also caught my attention because I am interested in the human brain, behaviors, and emotions. This open day made me realize that I need to start thinking about my future more seriously and find a profession that really interests me. I think that the campus was really nice and I liked the fact that it felt like a little community. I think that this could be a future college option for me.
