First Aid took part from 16th April-18 April 2018. For the first few days we watched many presentations about CPR and we also tried to complete CPR successfully on the dummies. We learnt about mouth to mouth, signs of stroke/ heart failure, the steps to helping an injured person, how to make slings, and many more. On Wednesday we completed the PHECC exam and practical. On the practical exam we had to demonstrate the correct CPR procedure, we made slings, and also put someone into the recovery position. We also learnt about different types of cuts and the correct bandaged they require. On Monday we also learnt how to use a defibrillator and we were shown an app that locates the closest defibrillator. On Wednesday we learnt about some different conditions such as epilepsy and how to help someone suffering from a seizure. Luckily I ended up passing the written and practical test and I hope I can help someone in the future.
