The TY musical was described as the highlight of the entire year, and it definitely lived up to this expectation. I remember I was very nervous for the auditions because I was eager to take part, but I can't sing very well and also lack coordination. The auditions were very challenging for me as we had to attempt to sing a song at a very high key. I obviously knew that I was not going to get a lead role but I really just wanted one line at least. When the cast was revealed not everyone was on the list but we were told that there were still many small roles available. I ended up being the shop manager and I was pleased. We did many hours of dancing and in the end I was involved in five dance numbers. The most challenging dance was called 'Whipped Into Shape.' This is because it involved using a skipping rope which was difficult with so many people on stage. Wen we started doing dress rehearsals I realized just how much work goes into creating a good show. Doing out makeup and hair, along with many costume changes was very stressful and tiring. My favorite part of this whole experiences was when we finally got to perform in front of an audience. This pushed us to perform to the best of our ability as we wanted to impress everyone. It is amazing to reflect on the progress that was made from out first rehearsal to our final show. On the last night of the show my voice was gone which was disappointing but i still tried my best. Since this was the first musical I experienced at this school, I was surprised to see all of the effort and dedication that went into it. Our director did an amazing job at making this musical a success.
